Daniella Meneses
Chief Growth Officer and Co-Founder | Remoti

In this exclusive HR Connect interview, Daniella Meneses, Chief Growth Officer and Co-Founder of Remoti, shares her journey and insights on the evolving landscape of recruitment and HR.

Daniella offers a behind-the-scenes look at how Remoti supports companies in navigating the complexities of a modern, distributed workforce.

Can you share your personal journey as a co-founder and how it shaped your vision for your company?

Reflecting on everything we’ve achieved is something I don’t do often enough, but the journey has been incredible—from our early days in a small WeWork office in Bogotá, Colombia, to now working from locations around the world. A major influence has been my drive to step outside my comfort zone and face the imposter syndrome that inevitably arises.

Challenges have been intimidating at times, but I’ve come to see them as signs of growth and progress. The more something scares me, the more it affirms I’m on the right path. Over time, I’ve also realized the importance of surrounding myself with good, genuine people. Their support makes the journey far more rewarding, transforming each challenge into a shared learning experience and helping us create something meaningful together.

What was the driving factor behind expanding your recruitment focus to tech roles, and how did you adapt to the challenges of learning a new industry?

The shift to tech roles stemmed from our commitment to meeting client needs and staying attuned to industry demands. Initially, we focused on marketing and sales roles, but as the demand for tech talent grew—especially from our clients in the tech space—we saw an opportunity to expand and support their evolving needs. Transitioning into this industry was a learning curve. At the time, I was our only tech recruiter, which pushed me to dive deep into understanding the nuances of tech hiring. This journey brought valuable insights and, over time, led to the creation of a dedicated tech recruitment department.

Today, we’re a team of over 50 tech specialists with a network of 20,000 technical candidates, and this specialization has allowed us to make meaningful connections between innovative companies and top-tier tech talent. We’re proud to have built an ecosystem that continues to bridge talent with opportunities in a way that meets the dynamic needs of the tech industry.

How does Remoti support its clients with recruitment, payroll, and HR extension services? Could you share any unique aspects of these offerings?

At Remoti, we customize our services to help clients build cohesive, embedded teams rather than simply outsourcing talent. Our recruitment approach is focused on aligning global tech talent with the unique culture and long-term goals of each client, so these individuals truly become part of the client’s team. We also provide tailored capability centers, which give companies full control over their teams, ensuring alignment with their vision and culture. Our payroll and HR services are designed to streamline compliance, onboarding, and payment processes, which can be complex and time-consuming.

Our ‘People Products’—from salary benchmarks to retention programs and data analytics—are all tailored to enrich the employee experience and ensure talent stays engaged. By consolidating recruitment, payroll, and HR functions into one integrated platform, we help clients focus on their core business, with confidence that we’re handling the details.

How do you foster a strong workplace culture and what principles guide your team?

Our culture at Remoti is deeply rooted in empowerment, ownership, and collaboration. We seek individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit who are truly invested in our collective success. Our approach is shaped by key principles: valuing every interaction as a step toward future placements, committing to operational excellence with quality at the core, constantly challenging our limits to encourage growth, and treating planning as the essential first step toward achieving our ambitions. These values keep us focused, driven, and aligned with our long-term goals.

How do you see the development of your application shaping the future of your business and supporting your clients?

As a talent platform for the modern workforce, we’ve evolved to meet the specific demands of tech companies by developing tools that simplify people operations. Our tracking systems help connect global talent pools, making recruitment, onboarding, and compliance far more seamless. Additionally, through a partnership with a neo bank, we offer our candidates a digital wallet that supports multi-currency payments, including crypto. This added flexibility benefits both clients and candidates, especially in an increasingly distributed global workforce. These tech innovations not only make payroll easier but also give clients a powerful tool to retain top talent, ensuring they can keep pace with the demands of the modern workforce.

What strategies do you consider essential for helping tech companies build and retain high-performing teams in today’s competitive market?

To build and retain high-performing teams, we believe in going beyond recruitment by providing comprehensive HR support. At Remoti, we offer solutions like salary benchmarking, employee training, retention programs, and advanced data analytics to help companies create environments where talent feels valued and inspired to grow. These strategies help foster engagement, encourage loyalty, and support continuous growth, giving our clients a competitive advantage in both attracting and retaining top talent. By supporting tech companies in these ways, we aim to create environments where individuals can do their best work and contribute meaningfully to the company’s goals.

Looking ahead, what trends or innovations do you believe will shape recruitment and HR in the tech industry?

Automation and AI-driven tools are already transforming recruitment and HR, helping streamline processes from candidate sourcing to matching talent with companies. As global and remote workforces continue to expand, there’s a rising need for flexible payroll solutions, like multi-currency payments and digital wallets, that can adapt to various countries and currencies.

However, while we embrace technology to make processes more efficient, we’re also committed to maintaining a personal, human element in everything we do. Meaningful connections, empathy, and the value of genuine relationships are at the heart of our approach, and we believe these qualities are essential for building strong relationships with clients and candidates alike.

Daniella’s journey from co-founding a startup to leading a global company demonstrates the importance of innovation, resilience, and strong values in creating impactful HR solutions. Her vision for Remoti highlights the balance between technological advancement and the essential human connection needed in recruitment and HR. Her insights provide valuable guidance for leaders striving to navigate the complexities of a global workforce while staying true to their core values.
